Dina Siravo-McCaffery knew she wanted to be a reporter from the time she was in 2nd grade!  After cultivating her skills as the editor of her high school newspaper, Dina's high school English teacher encouraged her to take her writing to the next level. Following his advice, four years later Dina graduated from Temple University with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. After graduating from college, Dina served as a reporter and Managing Editor of the Northeast Times Newsweekly, where she learned with the guidance of the "best editor in the world" to hone her reporting and editing skills. She has also worked at the South Philadelphia Review as a freelance writer and editor, and assisted with the launch of Metro into the Philadelphia market. She was also a reporter/copyeditor/page designer at the Bucks County Courier Times. For the past seven years, Dina served as the Public Relations Specialist for the Lower Moreland Township School District (where she fell in love with the classroom!)

After a  fruitful 20-year career in journalism, Dina returned to school to pursue a Master's Degree in Education (2008). Now, she teaches English at a local high school...where she encourages budding young writers to hone their skills and follow their dreams.  Writing will always be her passion, so she is enjoying the opportunity to stay connected in LM by contributing to Lower Moreland Patch.

When she's not teaching, tutoring or writing, Dina enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, and three sons, Shane (a 2011 Lower Moreland High School graduate), Tyler, 15, and Jordan, 11.  A native of Philadelphia, Dina has lived in Lower Moreland for 17 years.
