Fueling Station Construction Going Up at Wawa [Photos]

Construction crews have erected the fueling station at the new Wawa at the intersection of Red Lion Road and Philmont Avenue.

Last week construction crews put the siding and roofing on the Wawa building. Now crews are working on the fueling station.  The underground area for the gas tanks has been cleared out for weeks, and now the actual fueling station is starting to be erected at the intersection of Red Lion Road and Philmont Avenue.  Construction is expected to be complete by the end of April 2013.

Wawa Construction Moving Forward [Photos]

Construction crews are continuing to work on the new Wawa gas station at the intersection of Red Lion Road and Philmont Avenue.

In a span of about two weeks, construction crews have put the roof and siding on the new Wawa gas station that was approved in Lower Moreland Township. The intersection at Philmont Avenue and Red Lion Road has been cleared out and the building structure is starting to look like, well, like a building. Construction is expected to be complete by April 2013.

This is great news. The pictures are good too. The location is correct I may add. I can't wait for it to be done. I live near there. I saw a welder working in the rain to get it done. I think they should have gotten rid of TD bank and sold Wawa the whole corner? I consider this a good update story.   more ›

Wawa Construction Set to Resume Today

Construction crews will be on site today at the new Wawa at Philmont Ave. & Red Lion Rd.

There was a lot of action surrounding the decision of whether or not to allow a Wawa gas station in Lower Moreland Township. After months of meetings a ruling was finally made to allow the construction at the intersection of Philmont Ave. & Red Lion Rd. But if you've seen the property over the last two months, there hasn't been much action going on at all. Developers were supposed to continue at the start of November, however, that hasn't happened. The land was cleared out months ago, however, there has been a delay in building the actual Wawa structure. "Township staff met with the developer and contractors on Thursday (Dec. 13) morning for a pre-construction meeting." Assistant Township Manager Chris Hoffman said. "According to the …

Wawa Construction to Continue in November

The building of the Wawa gas station at Red Lion Rd. and Philmont Ave. is expected to resume next month.

If you drove by the intersection of Red Lion Road and Philmont Avenue sometime during the summer, you saw construction workers diligently working to get the land ready for the new Wawa gas station that was approved about a year ago. Recently, however, motorists who travel on that road on a daily basis may have noticed a lack of workers on the site.  The development of the site is currently in a holding pattern of sorts. The developer was responsible for clearing out the land, taking care of the underground storm water issues, and creating a right-hand turn lane on Red Lion Road. Now it is up to Wawa to build the actual building and install the fueling stations. According to the township, Wawa is supposed to start this construction in …

Wawa Gas Station Gets Final OK at Red Lion Rd. and Philmont Ave.

The Planning Commission approved the plan to allow the convenience store with fueling stations, but there are still some details that need to be hammered out before construction takes place.

After nearly two years and numerous sketch plans presented to the Lower Moreland governing bodies, a new Wawa gas station will begin construction in the township in the near future. The construction of the convenience store at the corner of Red Lion Rd. and Philmont Ave. received approval from the LM Planning Commission at last night’s meeting despite two votes against it. They gave it the OK under the condition that the following issues are addressed before breaking ground: According to township officials, there are still 28 “minor” matters associated with the project. These include on-site changes, driveway and curb widening, clarifying dimensions, elevations, and the aesthetics of the site. Some officials felt these issues should all be…
