Lower Moreland Hosts Charity Basketball Tournament

Supported by the Huntingdon Valley/Churchville Rotary Club, proceeds will help support local and international Rotary Club initiatives.

The Rotary Club of Huntingdon Valley/Churchville and Lower Moreland High School will sponsor their annual Regional Holiday Charity Basketball Tournament on December 27 and 28 from 1 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Lower Moreland High School, 555 Red Lion Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pa.  Boys and girls varsity basketball teams from area high schools including, Bristol High School, Calvary Christian, Girard College, Harry S. Truman, Lower Moreland, Morrisville, and Upper Merion will compete over two days to determine boys and girls team champions. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the champion teams. Lower Moreland Boys Basketball Team Kicks Off Season Tonight

The varsity and JV teams begin the 2011-12 season tonight at home against George School.

  The Lower Moreland boys basketball team will open its season tonight at home against George School. Head coach Seth Baron will lead the Lions’ varsity team starting at 7 p.m. The game will follow the JV game (5:30 p.m.) as former LM grad Adam Brown makes his coaching debut. The Lions are a young squad that will need to build chemistry as the season goes along with only six upperclassmen on the roster. Mike Mangan and Demitri Zoubroulis are the only seniors, but there are still a number of returning players for LM to have some cohesiveness.   Last year Lower Moreland finished in a tie for second place with Devon Prep in the Bicentennial League with a 9-4 league record.
