Philadelphia man comes into contact with a high-tension PECO wire, dies on the scene
A Philadelphia man died yesterday after he came into contact with a high-tension electric wire while trimming a tree in the Huntingdon Valley section of Abington. The 47-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, was working with a tree trimming company yesterday at about 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of Pine Road. According to police, the man accidentally touched a PECO electric line that runs through the back yards that separate Pine Road from Lippincott Road. A co-worker on the ground pulled the victim from the power line by pulling on a rope that was dangling from the victim, but the victim remained stuck in the tree, police said. PECO then cut power to the wires; the McKinley Fire Co. then used a ladder to lower the victim to the …

Orlando Fioravanti faces a long list of charges after an incident that occurred on March 14 at St. Albert's Circle in Huntingdon Valley.
On Thursday, March 22, 'God' will be at the mercy of Magisterial District Judge Jay Friedenberg. That's when the Warminster man, who caused an unusual scene in Lower Moreland last week and claimed to be the Almighty One, will have his court hearing at 10 a.m. According to court documents, Orlando Fioravanti, 41, faces the following charges: Fioravanti broke down the front door of a Lower Moreland resident's home last week at St. Albert's Circle. When officers arrived on scene, Fioravanti told them that he was God and threatened to kill any officer if they touched him. LMPD was forced to use a taser on the man to take him into custody. He did not post the $5,000 bail that was set and remains in Montgomery County Prison.
