Police Log: Hit-and-Run, DUI, Theft

The following was reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

June 18 – DUI Joseph Mullen, 46, of Warminster, has DUI charges pending after being involved in an accident. One witness called LMPD to report that a Jeep Liberty had struck a utility pole and felt the driver may leave the scene. The witness approached Mullen and asked if he needed assistance. Mullen said he hit a deer, and the witness called police and remained on scene. Police arrived and while speaking to Mullen it detected the odor of alcohol. He was unsteady on his feet and continually moved around while talking to police, according to the report. Mullen failed to satisfactorily complete field sobriety tests and police learned he had prescription drugs. Police believed he was under the influence and was incapable of safely operating a…

Police Log: Teacher Elecrocuted, Jade Employees Picket, DUI

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

June 3 – DUI Vadym Myronchuk, 38, of Philadelphia, has criminal charges pending after being involved in a car accident where the victim sustained injuries. According to the report, the driver’s pupils were constricted and the officer detected the smell of the alcohol on his breath. He failed field sobriety tests and registered a .273% BAC on the breath test. No other information available. June 2 – DUI Andonios Kastanos, 21, of Philadelphia, has a DUI charge pending after being involved in a 2-car accident near the intersection of Philmont and Byberry. The police arrived with both cars parked in the Wawa parking lot and Kastanos approached the responding officer. According to the report, Kastanos had slow and slurred speech and had trouble…

Police Log: DUI, Suspicious Persons, Criminal Mischief

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

May 18 – DUI Dale Wagner, 49, has a DUI charge pending after police pulled him over for swerving on the road and going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. The driver crossed from the westbound lane to the right curb lane causing the traffic stop. Wagner admitted to having three beers at a bar prior to driving, and police said that he had slow speech and his motor skills were lethargic. After exiting the car, police asked Wagner again how much he had to drink. This time he said three to five beers. According to the report he failed field sobriety tests and he refused to take a preliminary breathe test. May 16 – Suspicious Persons, Autos, Circumstances Victoria Smith, 21 of Philadelphia, reported that the front window of her 2007 Mitsubishi Galant was …

Police Log: Teenage Girl Found with Heroin Paraphernalia; Man with Syringes; Burglary

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

May 7 – Suspicious Persons An LMPD officer observed a small, black and red Honda Civic swerve several times on Washington Lane near Terwood Road. It crossed the double yellow lines in the roadway, and the police decided to follow it. After losing sight of the car, the police later found it to be parked at the end of a driveway on Fritz Circle. A neighbor said she did not recognize the car, and the residents were most likely at work at the time. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the car had driven through the rear yard of a home and was able to drive through the adjacent property to exit on Deerpath Rd. May 4 – DUI Police observed a 19-year-old female drive off the roadway and strike cement stairs leading from Byberry Rd. to …

Police Log: Crack Cocaine Bust, Stolen Mezuzahs and Tefillin, DUI

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

March 13 – Theft Levy Weber, 37, of Huntingdon Valley, reported that numerous religious items were stolen from his black 2001 Hyundai Elantra that was parked in his driveway. The actor(s) broke the front passenger window and stole a black canvas briefcase with “International Conference of Shluchini” logo on it. Inside that briefcase were a Tefillin (box of scrolls) and eight Mezuzahs. March 11 – DUI James Kirsch, 42, of Willow Grove, was cited after he backed his car into another parked car in the Oh! Bryon’s parking lot. When police arrived on scene they noticed Kirsch had trouble standing while trying to stay in one place. May 17 – Disorderly Conduct Wallace Gordon, 24, of Bristol, was cited for disorderly conduct after he was caught speeding on Pine Rd at 10:24 a.m. He was driving with a suspended license and found to be in possession of a suspected marijuana blunt and a scale with suspected marijuana residue on it. May 17 – Fraud A resident of Albidale contacted police at 11:40 a.m. to report more than $900 worth of fraudulent withdrawals from her account, which all occurred in California. May 17 – DUI pending Denise Cummings, 54, of Jenkintown, has a driving under the influence charge pending against her after she rear-ended a vehicle on Valley Rd. at 8:41 p.m. Officers detected the smell of alcohol and she failed field sobriety tests. It's Monday, so that means it's time for the weekly police log. Enjoy. March 30 – DUI Alan Jalon, 29, of Philadelphia, was stopped near of Pine and Welsh roads at 1:01 a.m. for driving with an expired registration. While stopped, the police found him to be intoxicated. He failed field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test showed that his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit, police said. Police also added that he was taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital for blood testing and charges are pending results. March 26 – Theft A resident of the 3300 block of Woodland Circle contacted police at 3:51 p.m. after discovering that someone had punched in his rear door lock cylinder. The suspect also gained access to his car between 7:30 p.m…

The following incidents were reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department

March 21 - DUI Alice Yazujian, 54, of the 500 block of Anne St, was arrested for DUI at 3:32 p.m. after she rear-ended a vehicle in the area of Huntingdon Pike and Byberry Rd., police said, adding that she failed field sobriety tests. She was taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital and charges are pending lab results, police added. March 21 - Attempted Theft A man attempted to steal a small HDTV from the CVS at 670 Welsh Rd. by putting it in a paper bag, police said. The man, who may have become suspicious, left the store without the television or bag before police arrived.
