Gas Prices Continue to Decline in Huntingdon Valley

Find the cheapest gas in Huntingdon Valley.

While gas prices declined in March, oil prices crept higher; both are indicators of an economic recovery, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this week is $3.637 for a gallon, down 2.1 cents from last week. In Bucks and Montgomery Counties, gas prices dropped another 2.6 cents a gallon to an average of $3.625, that’s 27.4 cents lower than last year’s prices. The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is $3.653, down 2.1 cents from a week ago. Nearby, the cheapest price for regular is $3.47 at the Citgo at 3475 Huntingdon Pike (PA-232) & Byberry Rd. Armed Robbery Probed at Huntingdon Valley Citgo Station

Police were seen searching the area surrounding the gas station with flashlights at 11:20 p.m. Saturday.

The CITGO gas station at the corner of Huntingdon Pike and Byberry Roads in Lower Moreland Township was robbed just after 10 p.m. this evening, according to multiple sources.    Montco Alerts tweeted that police are searching for a 20 to 25-year-old white male who is approximately 5-foot-8 and of medium build with a goatee. Earlier scanner reports said that at time of the incident the robber was wearing a black mask with a white hoodie, blue jeans and had a black semi-automatic handgun.  Check back for updates as Patch follows this developing story.

Gas Prices Jump nearly 20 Cents in a Week

Find the cheapest gas in Huntingdon Valley.

The average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Bucks and Montgomery spiked 17.8 cents since last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. That increase since last Monday is the most dramatic one-week spike in nearly two years, the report states.  The price surge was largely the result of higher crude oil prices and the “rubber-banding” of midcontinent retail gasoline prices, which fell dramatically to end the year and are now swinging back up. Locally, the price per gallon average is $3.670. The national average went up 16.9 cents  from a week ago to $3.533 and the Pennsylvania average increased 13.7 cents to $3.670.
