Following the home invasion in Huntingdon Valley, the Lower Moreland Police Department has released a sketch of the subject. A man posed as an employee of the Water Department and told the resident he needed to check the water in her home on the 170 block of Clearview Avenue. The homeowner answered the door, but when she turned around she realized the suspect had already entered her house through the side door. Believing that she was being robbed, the woman, who is in her 80’s, followed instructions after the man told her to go into the bathroom to check her pipes. A man is on the loose after getting away with close to $700 from the Citgo Gas Station on Huntingdon Pike.
The Lower Moreland Police Department confirmed that nobody was hurt during the armed robbery at the Huntingdon Valley Citgo Gas Station Saturday night. However, police did say the robber got away with $670 in cash and the crime is still under investigation. A Citgo employee who wished to remain anonymous told Patch the burglar arrived at the store around 9 p.m. The employee was counting money from the PowerBall lottery sales. "There was a lot of cash. I saw [the robber] enter with a mask; I said, 'I'm done.' He said, 'Give me all the money,' and he pointed to the gun. He said 'give me all the bills, too.'" The CITGO gas station at the corner of Huntingdon Pike and Byberry Roads in Lower Moreland Township was robbed just after 10 p.m. this evening, according to multiple sources. Montco Alerts tweeted that police are searching for a 20 to 25-year-old white male who is approximately 5-foot-8 and of medium build with a goatee. Earlier scanner reports said that at time of the incident the robber was wearing a black mask with a white hoodie, blue jeans and had a black semi-automatic handgun. An armed black male walked into the Manhattan Bagel and got away with cash.
Upper Moreland Police are currently searching for an armed black male who robbed the Manhattan Bagel at 2700 Easton Road in Willow Grove. According to UMPD, police officers were en route to the location and surrounding area after the male escaped with cash. The incident happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
