Pine Road Nature Trail Clean Up Today

The nature trail at Pine Road will have wood chips spread to maintain the pathways.

The Pine Road Nature Trail was developed in 1999 by Joyce Pounds, a former teacher at Pine Road Elementary, in partnership with Project L.A.B.S. The nature trail remains a valuable resource available to us at Pine Road and the surrounding community. The clean-up will take place on Saturday, October 13 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon next to the new addition at Pine Road School.

Our main goal is to spread woodchips on the trail to help maintain the pathways. Please bring any tools that may help us accomplish this goal. The most useful tools are rakes, wheelbarrows, shovels, and pitchforks. Make sure to label any personal items with your name. Gardening gloves and long pants are also a good idea since there is a chance of poison ivy in spaces between the trails. Due to the active nature of this project, parents must be present to supervise their children. Please feel free to bring drinks or healthy snacks to share during our work session.

Hope to see you on the trail!
