Lower Moreland School District Presents Internet Safety Event

The 'Navigating Their Digital World' event is open to all families in the Lower Moreland community.

The Lower Moreland School District (LMSD) will host its first “Navigating Their Digital World” event, May 14, from 6-8:45 p.m. at the Pine Road Elementary School.

The event is designed for any family in and around Lower Moreland, specifically for parents with children in grade four or older.

“I think it’s an important event, not only for everybody in our education community in Lower Moreland, but also outside of it,” Sue Casagrand, the district’s director of Technology, said. “Because, it’s such a big issue.”

According to Casagrand, the event follows the "Take 25" campaign, which encourages families to make child safety a national priority. She added that the idea for the “Navigating Their Digital World” event recognizes the ever-growing Internet and social media use by youth, and aims to help parents prepare their children by better understanding it.

“I want them to understand how to navigate their students’ digital world,” Casagrand said.
