Lower Moreland Hosts Charity Basketball Tournament

The Rotary Club of Huntingdon Valley/Churchville and Lower Moreland High School will sponsor their annual Regional Holiday Charity Basketball Tournament on December 27 and 28 from 1 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Lower Moreland High School, 555 Red Lion Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pa. 

Boys and girls varsity basketball teams from area high schools including, Bristol High School, Calvary Christian, Girard College, Harry S. Truman, Lower Moreland, Morrisville, and Upper Merion will compete over two days to determine boys and girls team champions. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the champion teams. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Lee Adams, president of the Huntingdon Valley/Churchville Rotary Club stated, “Over the years, we have received great support for this tournament from the fans, parents, and students of the participating schools. We look forward to their continued support this year.”

Proceeds will be designated for various programs and organizations consistent with Rotary’s community service objectives, including Rotary International’s Polio Eradication Program, Rotary youth leadership camp, high school Student of the Month awards, college scholarships, middle school and high school Interact Service Clubs, Rotary’s Annual Community “Fish-a-long” children’s fishing tournament, and the club’s annual holiday gift campaign for disadvantaged children.
