PennDOT: Limited Travel on Route 422 Oct. 24-25

Due to bridge and road work, drivers can expect limited nighttime travel.

Drivers can look out for limited nighttime travel on Route 422 from Thursday, Oct. 24 to Friday, Oct. 25 at the Route 363 (Trooper Road) Interchange in Lower Providence and West Norriton due to bridge and road work, according to a media release from PennDOT.

Route 422 will be diminished to one lane at the interchange on Oct. 24 fro 7 p.m. to Oct. 25 at 6 a.m.

PennDOT suggests that drivers give themselves extra time for travel through the construction zone while the workers attend to the Route 363 bridge and add constructions barriers on Route 422 East.

The construction is part of a $16.8 million project that PennDOT is undertaking to better the travel through the interchange by increasing the size of Route 363 and by adding two new ramps.

The contractor that PennDOT uses has initiated construction in October to create an on-ramp from Route 363 to Route 422 west. They have also initiated an off-ramp from Route 422 East to Route 363, as well as initiated widening Route 363. The project is set to be completed in the fall of 2015.
