Corbett PAC Gets Illegal $1M Donation

Casino owners cannot make political donations in Pennsylvania.

A political action committee supporting Gov. Tom Corbett's re-election campaign has received a hefty $1 million donation -- but they can't use it.

The money was donated by Sheldon Adelson, CEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., to the Republican Governor's Association, The Daily News reported

The RGA is headed by N.J. Gov. Chris Christie.

Casinos are barred from making political contributions for candidates seeking state office under Pennsylvania gaming law, a fact that the Sands Corp. told The Daily News it noted when making the donation to the RGA.

But the RGA gave nearly all of the money -- $987,844, The Daily News said -- to RGA Pennsylvania 2014 PAC, which supports Corbett.

The money was withdrawn once the mistake was pointed out, The Daily News said.

Corbett's re-election efforts have received about $1.8 million in legal donations from the RGA since December 2013.

Colorado figured out how to fund something like the Pennsylvania State Pension Fund. Why can't we do the same?

Liberal bias media.... Nothing to see here folks just BS headline. Yes lets vote in the Dem candidate. Do you even know his name? His first order of business is to add additional tax to natural gas drillers. Sounds good to tax a lot libs. Only problem is gas companies wont miss a dime. We will pay for the tax with higher heating bills and electric bills. Please stop drinking the union kool aid read and educate yourself before just pulling the D lever.

Corbett doesn't care about the people . Just the bottom line of his own corrupt future.

You're probably right . Lets wait til we see the budget . Pensions , Liquor , Fracking , Reduction in the size of the legislators , 401 K's for all members . If you think any of this will change in the future with Scanati making an impassioned speech about change we need you can cross Corbett off your voting list right now and he will lose by the biggest margin of any Governor that ever ran as an incumbent .
