Woman Charged with DUI in 3-Vehicle Crash

A 33-year-old Chalfont woman's alleged prescription drug use contributed to a crash in Lower Moreland last month, police say.

A 33-year-old Chalfont woman who Lower Moreland Police say was under the influence of prescription drugs, has been charged in connection with a three-vehicle crash on Byberry Road. 

Gina M. Green, of Inverness Circle in Chalfont, was charged on Monday with driving under the influence, careless driving, following too closely, driving on the right side of the roadway and driving on roadways laned for traffic in connection with the July 18 crash which occurred at 6:49 a.m. 

Police said Green's Ford Expedition slammed into the rear of a Mitsubishi Eclipse, causing that car to hit the rear of a Hyundai Sante Fe. There were no injuries as a result of the crash, police said.

Green had prescription bottles for Xanax, Tramadol and Oxycodone in her possession, according to police. All were prescribed to her, but the bottles had fewer pills than they should have based on the labels, police said.

Tramadol, for instance, was filled on June 30 with 248 pills, but only 69 remained on July 18, according to police. Similarly, a 90-pill July 15 prescription bottle for Xanax had 58 remaining pills, police said.

Police said she exhibited signs of intoxication and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety test. She was transported to Holy Redeemer Hospital where blood was drawn, police said. She faces DUI and related offenses pending the results of the lab analysis.
