Vandals Overturn Headstones, Police Say

Lower Moreland Police are investigating vandalism at Forest Hills Cemetery.

"At least four" headstones at Forest Hill Cemetery were pushed over and four planters were pushed into the creek bed, according to Lower Moreland Police.

Investigation is ongoing for the vandalism, which was reported on Aug. 15 and believed to have occurred overnight, according to police.

Other than being overturned, damage was not evident in any of the objects, police said.

Planters had been held in place with "some form of epoxy," which would have required vandals to "use some force," according to police.

The cemetery's superintendent told police that his employees would be installing a trail camera in the vicinity of the bridge near the main entrance off of Byberry Road in an attempt to capture future vandalism acts on film.
