Suspicious Person Spotted on Resident's Property, Police Say

A local resident found a man at the side of her house claiming to check her gas meter.

A Huntingdon Valley resident called the Lower Moreland Police Department March 12 after she saw a man on the side of her house on the 700 block of Fettersmill Road.

The homeowner asked him what he was doing, and the man said he was checking the gas meter. He said he was with PECO. But the white pickup truck he had parked in her driveway had a Texas license plate.

The man left without incident.

However, the homeowner called PECO and the company told her no one was scheduled to be at her house that day.

There was a sticker on the back of the car that said, "How's my driving?" and phone number, which the homeowners wrote down. Police called the number and it came back registered to Grid One Solutions Inc. from North Carolina. Grid One performs meter readings, but police did not get in touch with a supervisor at the company to confirm if the man was supposed to be on the property.
