Road Closings and Power Outages in Lower Moreland

Check back periodically with Patch to find out the latest road closings in the area because of Hurricane Sandy.

The Huntingdon Valley Fire Company is advising local residents to be safe as Hurricane Sandy approaches. The Public Works Department is already taking measures to keep the township safe, but the fire department is also reminding all of us to be safe. 

The following message was posted on its Facebook page:

HVFC urges everyone to use extra caution during the storm. If the road is barricaded, then it is flooded or blocked, so find another way. Even our chaplain can't walk on water, so neither can you or your car. Better yet, stay off the roads. If you see a power line down, always assume it is energized and stay away from it. Pay attention to weather updates and local and state advisories.

Likewise, the township has urged residents to take precautionary measures during the weekend and beginning of the week as the storm nears.
