August 30  - Fraud

  • 300 block of Red Lion Rd.

Khalif Scott, 23, of Philadelphia presented a fake paycheck to a car dealer in order to purchase a new vehicle. Scott claimed to be an administrative assistant to Darryl Barkley, who is a current employee of Allegheny Valley School (AVS).

The administrator of AVS, Darlene Fulton, contacted police once she was contacted by her human resources department to confirm Scott was employee, which he was not. After comparing two pay stubs, police brought Barkley in for questioning. He appeared nervous and hesitant to answer any questions, according to police.

  • Valley Car Wash – 2261 Huntingdon Pike

David Mizrachi, 34, came into LMPD to report his car’s front left rim had been damaged while it was being washed at the Valley Car Wash. Mizrachi said new rims were put on his 2008 Range Rover a couple days prior, and he was certain the damage was from the automatic track for the car wash. Blue transfer paint, similar to the paint at the start of the track, was seen on the scratched rim. Valley Car Wash is denying it was responsible for the damage. Mizrachi said it would cost between $150-200 for repairs.

August 29 – Trespassing

  • 100 block of Pheasant Drive

Charles Rosenbaum, 36, was seen cutting through resident Amy Litz’s yard on weekends to get to Pine Road Elementary. Litz claims that Rosenbaum has to open two gates to get to the school, and repeatedly leaves the gates open once he crosses through.

Litz told police that Rosenbaum is argumentative when he was approached about cutting through her yard. Police visited his residence at 173 Marc Lane and spoke to the homeowner, Marvin Rosenbaum. Marvin reported that his son, Charles, was staying at his home over the weekend and was taking six children to the playground. He said he will pass along the news that Charles will be cited next time he is caught trespassing.

August 27 – DUI

  • 2600 block of Huntingdon Pike

Hyunchul Yoon, 23, of Havertown, was stopped after an officer saw him cross the double yellow lines on the road twice in the area of Huntingdon Pike and Red Lion Rd. While speaking to Yoon, officers noticed his eyes were bloodshot and glassy and his speech was slurred.

When asked if he had been drinking, Yoon replied, “Yes, I had two,” according to police. Yoon registered a 0.142% BAC, but the officer thought he was incapable of driving and placed him under arrest. DUI and related charged are pending.

August 25 – Theft

  • Manor Care, 3430 Huntingdon Pike

Patricia Jenkins, 66, of Wilmington DE, was visiting her mother at Manor Care Health Services when she discovered money had been taken from her purse. She placed her purse in an unlocked drawer in her mother’s room, and then later found that $45 was missing due to two thefts.

Jenkins left the room with her mother on Aug. 20, and when she returned, saw that $20-30 was missing from her wallet. Jenkins also told police that a similar incident occurred the week prior, where someone took one $5 bill, one $10 bill and left three dollar bills in the wallet. These incidents occurred in room 109 and police have advised the nursing staff of the thefts.
