Police: Be Alert, Recent Surge in Daytime Burglaries

Police are asking for help from residents if anyone sees any suspicious activity.

The following alert was released by the Upper Moreland Police Department via nixle.com:

Upper Moreland Township and surrounding townships have experienced a recent surge in daytime residential burglaries. Streets in Upper Moreland where burglaries have occurred include; Terwood Rd., Davisville Rd., Pioneer Rd., Fitzwatertown Rd., and Byberry Rd.

The burglars knock on the front door and if someone answers they make up a story about why they are there. If nobody answers, they go around to the back of the house and force entry.

Please report all activity that even comes close to resembling somebody or something suspicious. We need your help. Don't hesitate to call. We don't mind responding to complaints that check out or are unfounded. Your call may be the break we need.
