[Editor's note: charges are pending for this incident after a chemical form was submitted].
On November 1, an officer from the Lower Moreland Police Department was responding to the 1400 block of County Line Road for an electrical fire caused by fallen power lines at Mann Road. County Line Road was closed shortly after and another Fire Police vehicle was approaching the scene for assistance. Behind that Fire Police car was a silver sedan weaving through stopped traffic that let the emergency vehicle pass. As the sedan approached the police officer, the officer told the driver, a male from Philadelphia, that the road was closed and he needed to find a different route.
A few moments later the police officer saw the silver sedan again try to go down County Line Road and was subsequently stopped. He told the cop he needed to go to work, but would not elaborate on where that was. At this time the driver became “extremely belligerent,” telling the cop that he works in Heaven and began screaming, “F****** take me!” The driver then maneuvered his car around the cop car and headed in the direction that was closed.
The officer eventually tracked him down as he was walking on foot along County Line Road, and initiated a stop to cite him for disobeying traffic control. The driver again stated that he needed to go to work. But this time he told the officer that he is God, and that the police officer is also God. He told police that he recently began feeling like he needs to save the human race because the end of the world is coming, and he referenced the Mayan calendar. According to the report the driver's pupils were highly constricted, and he admitted to taking Percocet “a few hours ago,” but then later changed his answer to “last night.” He was taken to LMPD and eventually released to his father after submitted a chemical test form.
