Lower Moreland police submitted the following news release:
The Lower Moreland Township Police Department is attempting to identify the actors who passed counterfeit bills at the Heritage Hoagies shop in the 2400 block of Huntingdon Pike on Sept. 3. The subjects entered the store one at a time, selected a bottled drink from the cooler, and paid for the items using a counterfeit $20 bill that was a "washed" bill of a lower denomination. After receiving his change Suspect #1 exited the store. Immediately after Suspect #1 left the store Suspect #2 entered the store and conducted a similar transaction.
Upon further investigation it was discovered the same actors have been involved in similar incidents in Upper Southampton and Upper Dublin Townships during the same time frame. The modus operandi for all three incidents has been the same. In the Upper Southampton incident the actors were seen leaving in a newer model white Nissan Altima, registration unknown. In all three incidents the thin black male actor is seen wearing a distinctive black baseball cap with an orange bill, with orange writing on the front. .
