Juveniles Nabbed in String of Thefts

Lower Moreland Police are trying to identify the owners of various items allegedly stolen from unlocked vehicles recently.

A pair of minors have been arrested in a string of thefts from unlocked vehicles in Lower Moreland.

Police took a 16-year-old and 17-year-old boy into custody during the early morning hours of Sept. 4 in connection with several recent thefts of items in the area of Glenn Court and Roy Lane in Lower Moreland and Buxmont Road in Philadelphia.

A petition will be filed with juvenile court, according to police.

Prior to their arrest, the boys, who had been allegedly hiding in a homeowner's tree on Roy Lane, had attempted to flee on foot, but a police K-9 from Warminster Police Department helped to track them down, according to a police report.

Both of the boys had a backpack in their possession, police said. Inside were items ranging from sports jerseys, to GPS units, lottery tickets, shorts, sneakers, money, a DVD player and other items believed to have been stolen from vehicles.

Identification of the property owners is ongoing, according to police.
