Forced Entry Burglary, Needle Found at Park Reported to Police

The following was reported by the Lower Moreland Police Department.

Sept. 4 – Suspicious Persons, Circumstances

  • Ridgway Park, 160 Manor Rd.

A resident called LMPD to report that she found a needle while walking her dog near the playground at Ridgway Park. She found a capped intravenous syringe with an orange cap over the needle in the grass. Extra patrol was requested to the park due to possible drug activity.

August 30 – Burglary – Forced Entry

  • 400 block of Byberry Rd.

A resident on the 400 block of Byberry Road called LMPD to report someone had broken into their house. It was discovered that the actor entered the home through an open sunroom front window. The actor removed the screen and it was found on the ground. A right greasy handprint was found on the upper right side of the window frame, and a palm handprint was found on the left bottom portion of the window frame.  It appeared the actor was wearing only one glove.

The actor entered the second floor and entered the spare bedroom, but nothing appeared to be taken. In the master bedroom, however, there was a plastic pretzel jar containing $1,000 in loose change that was taken. There were numerous pieces of high value jewelry which were left in jewelry boxes.

August 27 – Theft

  • Five Star Ambulance, 74 Tracey Road

The owner of Five Star Ambulance called LMPD to report the theft of a registration plate off one of his 2003 Ford E-350 Ambulance that was purchased in Feb. 2012.
