On Friday, July 20, the Lower Moreland Police Department was called out to after a fight broke out between customers. According to witnesses, Daniel Gramlich, 25, of Philadelphia, was celebrating his birthday by drinking at the bar. Gramlich was heard making improper comments to a female bartender, and threw a shot glass in her direction causing alcohol to spill on her.
A local customer confronted Gramlich about his behavior and Gramlich slapped him in the face. The two began wrestling in the bar before a group of people – including an off-duty police officer from Philadelphia – escorted the two males outside.
Gramlich and his friend, Anthony Casella, 26, of Philadelphia, began knocking over tables as they were escorted out of the bar. Once the two were in the parking lot, another customer walked outside to check on them, and Gramlich punched the customer in the face. The first patron who was hit in the face saw this and began wrestling with Gramlich outside in the parking lot.
Police eventually questioned Gramlich and Casella when they were in their car, but their side of the story was discredited by witnesses who gave an accurate account to police of what happened.
All parties involved said they did not wish to press charges against each other.
