Copper ground bus bars were taken from the United Methodist Church, according to Lower Moreland Police.

Two copper grounding bus bars were stolen from the United Methodist Church in Lower Moreland, according to police.

A wireless technician reported the thefts to police on Aug. 14 and told police that the bars were taken sometime after July 15, the last time he was working at the site, which is located at 3470 Huntingdon Pike, according to the police report.

The total cost to replace the bars in parts and labor is $5,000, according to the report.

Police said one of the bars had been unbolted from support structure and wireless connections and had been cut from the main grounding wire leading into the ground.

"The other bar appeared to have been unbolted and multiple wire connectors were cut and unbolted from the bar," according to the report.

Numerous bolts, nuts and washers were on the ground, according to police.

The thefts are under investigation.
