Blue Minivan Thought to be Casing Neighborhood, Home, Police Say

Lower Moreland Police encountered a light blue Honda Odyssey minivan on July 1, traveling west on Sunflower Way from the area of Clover Road with a Pennsylvania license plate and New Jersey inspection stickers.

An officer stopped the vehicle, and the occupants were unable to provide a legitimate reason for being present in the neighborhood and their stories changed several times, according to the Lower Moreland Police Department press release.

The occupants of the vehicle had a police scanner and it was set to the Lower Moreland frequency and actively scanning other nearby jurisdictions, according to police.

The criminal history and NCIC/PCIC checks for the three occupants of the vehicle revealed they all have extensive criminal histories, including burglaries, robberies, gun charges and violent crimes, according to the police report.

Information also revealed that the three males are possible persons of interest related to home invasion robberies/burglaries of business owners of Asian descent.

Lower Moreland Police reports state the men were actively casing a potential target home.

If these subjects, the vehicle, or any other suspicious activity in a neighborhood is observed by a resident, police urge to not make contact with them and contact 911 immediately.
