Forced Entry Burglary Reported—Again—in Lower Moreland

A resident reported his house was burglarized while he and his wife were at work.

The following information was supplied the Lower Moreland Police Department:

A homeowner on the 2200 block of Washington Lane called LMPD at 4:23 p.m. on Jan. 30 to report his house was burglarized. The homeowner stated that he and his wife left the house at 8:30 a.m. But when he arrived home, he saw the front door was ajar and pieces of they metal door jam were laying on the floor.  According to the report, the door appeared to be forced in, with the door jam split vertically. The homeowner also reported his dresser drawers in his bedroom had been open and laying on the floor.

According to police, the door appeared to have marks around the door handle with a crowbar type tool. Police checked the house and there was light ransacking throughout. The master bedroom had a “Sharp” TV sitting on the bed while on the second floor cops found a “Samsung” flat screen TV was found dislodged and hanging from the wall. The homeowners didn’t report anything taken at this time.

Police are investigating the matter further.
