Week 2: Pennington

The Lions squared off against the Pennington Prep Red Raiders last Saturday at Lower Moreland. The outcome came to 22-0, and it was a great bounce back from last week when the Lions lost to Springfield 48-13.
The first quarter, junior Johnathon Chung dove in for a short yard touchdown and senior Jordan Pocrass tacked on the extra point. The pursuing kickoff, Pocrass boomed one down the field and a Pennington returner mishandled the ball. Turned out to be a safety for the Lions, which made the score 9-0 at the end of the first quarter and the score carried into halftime.
The second half started off with a bang when sophomore Matthew Gallagher intercepted a Pennington pass and took it back for a touchdown. Later in the day senior Ryan Killion topped it off with a touchdown run to make the score 22-0.
All and all it was an impressive game for the Lions. On that day, the offensive line looked particularly good and opened up gaps for Tyler Hunn, Killion, and and Chung. The defense was also shutdown, holding the Red Raiders to zero points scored.
The Lions will face Conwell-Egan this Thursday, 7pm, at Murray Avenue. Come out and show your support for the Lions!
