Lower Moreland vs. Calvary

On a hot Saturday afternoon, the Lower Moreland Lions took on the Calvary Christian Academy Cougars at home. After gaining momentum and winning two straight, the Lions rolled past the Cougars 28-0.
The Lions took it to Calvary on the ground, and in the first quarter Jonathan Chung took one in from 1 yard out after Ryan Killion carried it to the goal line for 20 yards. The half ended 14-0 Lions after Joseph Leventhal took one in from 1 yard out. The Lions looked dominant in the first half making it hard for Calvary to do anything. Along with the stellar offensive performance in the first half, Peter Ebert added an interception, and Anthony Morales added a sack.
The second half was all Lions again. Leventhal rushed in again from one yard out with 6:46 left in the third. The Lions got their second interception of the day when Dylan Kanter picked off his first of the year, and to top it off Ryan Killion went 65 yards for a score mid-way through the 4th.
Killion ended the game with over 170 yards rushing. When asked about his success on the ground he responded with, "We played a physical game up front at the line of scrimmage. Our offensive line got bug pushes up front and opened up holes all game long."
After 3 straight wins, the Lions will carry momentum into their game with Delaware County Christian (Delco) this Saturday away at 7pm. Both teams are currently 3-1 and are competing at the top of the BAL standings. The Lions are on a roll so far this year and hopefully they keep it up at Delco.
