Lower Moreland High School's mini-THON Season in Full Swing!

Lower Moreland High School’s mini-THON season is off to an exciting start!   50 student captains on 14 committees have been hard at work since late August to make this year’s event bigger and better than any before.   So far, these efforts have been resoundingly successful!   This past weekend alone, captains collected over $4000 for the Four Diamonds Fund while canning at Phillies and Eagles games.  The Four Diamonds Fund ensures that families of children with pediatric cancer will not have to worry about the financial aspect of their child’s treatment.  Last year, LMHS’s mini-THON raised $82,481.81 for the charity, which receives yearly donations from numerous area mini-THONs in addition to Penn State University’s Dance MaraTHON.   In order to meet this year’s goal of $100,000, the hard-working students of Lower Moreland have plenty of exciting pre-event fundraisers.  These include:

Dining for a Cause:  These will be held at Huntingdon Valley’s Arugula  (October 16th) and Bertucci’s (date TBA); a portion of the price of every meal purchased on these dates will benefit LM mini-THON.

Kids Night Out:  This fan-favorite includes a haunted house experience for children in grades 1 through 6.  Games and activities make this a fantastic night, and a great opportunity for parents to enjoy a kid-free night!  The event will be October 26th.  More details to come!

The actual mini-THON event will take place on November 22, when almost half of all Lower Moreland High School students will come together in the gym for the 12-hour mini-THON event.   Please join us to see this incredible, student-run event in action!  We will have Four Diamonds Families speaking  during the day and in the evening about how they have been affected pediatric cancer, and we know this cause will touch your heart as it has ours.  Everything we do is “For the Kids”, as the THON catch-phrase states!  Please check this blog periodically for more mini-THON updates!
