With Junior and Senior Prom around the corner for Lower Moreland high schoolers, a local salon is offering special hair style packages—with a free gift card to give to their mom—to help curb the costs of the big night out.
has two packages to save girls money. The first, which will run $100, includes an elegant evening hairdo, makeup application, false eyelashes and lip gloss. For an extra $25, girls can get the second package that includes all of the previously mentioned items, plus a manicure and pedicure.
Owner and founder Mimi Levy said that girls interested in the discounted packages need to make a reservation at the salon by Friday, April 15. And to make the deal even better, she said customers will receive a $10 gift card to give to mom for Mother's Day to use toward a future trip to the salon.
If you are interested in getting an up-do or a special style for the dance, but haven't thought about what will look best, Levy said girls can come in for a trial run.
"We do charge for the trial runs," she said. "If they only come just to get an idea and they don't get the actual hairdo done, we would charge them half. But normally, if girls try it, they get the whole do done, so it's the cost of a regular up do."
Perhaps you already have plans for your hair, but hadn't thought about your toes peeking through those peep toe heels, or what to do with your fingernails. Luckily, the salon also has a student special for manicures and pedicures for $25.
To make an appointment, call 215-953-8100. The salon has 23 stylists and three makeup artists, so it can handle a high volume of customers, Levy said, but the "Prom and Mom" deal will only be available to those who make reservations by April 15.
Lower Moreland's Junior Prom will take place on Saturday, April 28, and the Senior Prom will be held on Thursday, May 31.
