New Weis Opening in Huntingdon Valley

The grand-opening celebrations start Sunday morning.

The following was provided to Patch by Weis:

Weis Markets will celebrate the grand opening of the company’s new Huntingdon Valley store on Sunday, November 10. To kick off the celebration, Weis associates and area dignitaries will be on hand to give $10,000 to Huntingdon Valley community organizations, including Upper Moreland High school, Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company, Abington YMCA, Upper Moreland Soccer Club, Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger, Public Citizens for Youth and Children and Bux-Mont Meals on Wheels.
The 62,800-square foot supermarket is located in the Marketplace at Huntingdon Valley shopping center at 2100 County Line Road. The new Weis Markets will feature expansive fresh departments, including a large produce department with a great selection of organic produce, a full-service pharmacy and 35-seat café selling 300 varieties of domestic and imported beer. A Gas N’ Go station is also proposed for the site.
The store is eco-friendly with advanced refrigeration and climate control technologies designed to lessen the store’s impact on the environment and global warming. These technologies will reduce the store’s refrigerant usage by 60 percent compared to a conventional supermarket.  As a result, it is expected to achieve the U.S. EPA’s GreenChill Gold-Level Certification.
