So, whether you have a student starting at the high school this fall or just want to find out what students are up to these days, here's a look at some of the more unique classes being offered at LMHS this year.
This course is designed to give students an understanding of marketing and business. Students will look at the marketing process and how major businesses operate within the marketing system.
This class will teach students how to design and write for a professional-looking websites. Students will learn HTML, how to lay out a page, how to prepare pictures of the web, and how to upload their work to the Internet.
Documentary Film Making
Students will learn to process of planning, writing, filming, and editing a documentary film. Students will use new technology to create, film and edit an original documentary.
Beyond the Screen: A Film Appreciation Course
This course looks at the development of cinema, from its inception to today's feature films. Technical study of film-making, the use of the camera, lighting and sound, comparison of the narrative and more will be part of the unit of study. Films will be examined for their contributions to their genres.
Intro to Sports Management
This course is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in athletics, fitness or recreation. Students will be introduced to all aspects of sports management and acquire the skills and knowledge to plan, organize, lead and evaluate many sports and fitness activities.
