UPDATE: Storm Center Will Be Farther South

Winter Storm “Titan” won’t be quite as bad as they said.

The National Weather Service has downgraded its predictions for our area, saying that the storm will hit much farther south than earlier thought.

Four to 6 inches of snow are now expected in Delaware and Philadelphia counties, and in the southern parts of Chester County. In Montgomery County and northern Chester County, 2 to 4 inches of snow are now predicted, and in Bucks County, the prediction has been lowered to 1 to 2 inches of snow.

A winter storm warning remains in place for Delaware and Philadelphia counties, as well as the parts of Chester and Montgomery counties. A winter weather advisory is now in place for Bucks County and the northwestern portions of Montgomery County.

Winds of up to 15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph are still expected, the NWS said. Mild ice accumulation remains possible.

The NWS said the near-record cold is predicted for Monday night, with temperatures hovering at or below zero.

It is still likely that Monday’s morning commute will be a problem, the NWS said.
