We're going to get even more snow on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, but the real problem will be the accompanying ice.

Ice up to a quarter-inch thick will blanket the region overnight, the National Weather Service said. In addition, we'll receive another 2 to 4 inches of snow on top of the up to 9 inches dumped on us Monday.

A winter storm warning is in effect from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

In a statement to the press, the NWS wrote: "Icing -- How bad could it get? Answer: VERY BAD."

If the ice is as bad as predicted, the NWS said, the area will see significant tree limb and power line damage. Power outages are to be expected, the NWS said.

The National Weather Service said the amount of ice and sleet "will make travel very hazardous or impossible."

Temperatures in the low 30s are expected, along with wind gusts as high as 20 mph.
