Huntingdon Valley Fire Company Hosting Fire Prevention Open House

The Huntingdon Valley Fire Company and Lower Moreland Township will host an Open House as part of Fire Prevention Week.

According to the Facebook page for the event, there will be safety demonstrations and interactive activities for children, as well as 911 education, search and rescue dogs will be on site, as well as the fire company's mascot, Sparky the Fire Dog.

The fire company is also spreading the word about the danger and the prevention of kitchen fires. Firefighters will teach residents how to prevent kitchen fires from even starting.

According to the Township website, local Boy Scouts will also be on hand to present first aid and fire prevention information.

The open house will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 640 Red Lion Road in Huntingdon Valley.
