According to the Pennsylvania Lottery website, the winner can cash that ticket in for $450,000, less 25 percent in federal holdings. Saving you a trip to your calculator, that’s about $337,500.

The store will get $500 for selling the ticket.

In the Cash 5 game, a player must select five balls numbered 1 through 43. To win the jackpot, the player must match all five balls … and the odds of that happening are 1 in 962,598, according to the lottery.

For the year and through the end of June, the Pennsylvania Lottery sold 167.5 million Cash 5 tickets — up about 4.6 percent over this time last year. Including all games, the lottery has sold about $3.7 billion in tickets through June of this year.

The Pennsylvania Lottery cannot confirm the identity of the winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. If you’re the winner, the Pennsylvania Lottery says to sign the back of the ticket and call 717-702-8146.

And, if you haven’t checked, the winning numbers are: 17-19-25-31 and 40.
