Abraham Lincoln Impersonator Coming to Huntingdon Valley

Actor James Hayney will portray Abraham Lincoln at the Huntingdon Valley Library.

Veteran actor James Hayney will be on hand at the Huntingdon Valley Library to help celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s birthday.

Hayney, of Camp Hill, is a life member of the National Associations Abraham Lincoln Presenters, and will portray the 16th President of the United States in “Lincoln’s Life Highlights” on the second floor of the HV Library on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. Lincoln’s actual birthday is Feb. 12.

The Library has hosted similar events like the time a George Washington impersonator (Dean Malissa) visited our neighborhood in Feb. 2011.

“(He) came to us by way of the Association of Lincoln Presenters Web site after our first Lincoln has to cancel,” Huntingdon Valley Library Director Sharon Moreland-Sender said. “Luckily, Mr. Hayney was available for the original date and time.”

Hayney has performied in over 100 stage plays across the country, and acted in numerous TV films and commercials. Most recently he served as Grand Marshall for the Pennsylvania Farm Show.

These events at the Library are part of the new programming for 2013. The Programming Committee also has early literacy programs, Cultural events, a health fair and education lectures ahead.
