Cell phones

What is a good age for cell phones for children?  Everyone's situation can make the age a child may get a cell phone different like taking the bus, after school activities, working parents, etc.  The type of cell phone should also be considered. Do you get a Smart Phone?  This adds extra complications like accessibility to websites without being monitored by a parent. It is important that we teach our children about Internet safety.  Parents can warn children about how information is too much information online.  Lets face it, when we were children every dumb thought that went through our brains was not broadcast for the world to see.  At ten years old, I thought what I was doing made absolute sense.  It is a big different world and it is important to guide our children through it.  

We can monitor our children's games on their Wii, Playstation, etc.  However, the arguments that I have heard come from Xbox trash talk, could make your head spin.  What children are afraid to say to each other in person, easily is expressed behind a headset or on a computer. So back to my point, cell phones.  The gateway to free conversations by text and apps.
