A man got out of his car and banged on another vehicle's window and cursed at the driver he felt had been tailgating him, Lower Moreland Police said. The incident happened on March 27 in the area of Red Lion Road and Kirk Drive. The driver told police the man got out of his car and began cursing and yelling at him before hitting the glass window with his hand. He described the man as wearing glasses and a UPS uniform, police said. A man in his 20's fell off the train while attempting to exit on to the platform at the Philmont Train Station. A witness told police the man was leaning against a railing next to the railroad tracks acting confused. According to the police, the man had poor balance and had slurred speech when they arrived. A broken 40-ounce bottle of beer was leaking on the ground next to the man. The man was given a breathe test that revealed a .249 percent BAC. He faces charges of public drunkenness. A Lower Moreland man of Albidale Drive broke down his bathroom door with a hammer after his 26-year-old son had locked himself inside for about 20 minutes. He found his son passed out and unresponsive on the floor, police say. The father called 9-1-1. Police found a hypodermic needle and two used blue paper packages consistent with the packaging of heroin. They also found three unused blue paper packages with white powder that were marked “VICTORIA SECRET.”According to the report, the powder later tested positive for heroin. A Huntingdon Valley resident reported several items missing from his car after he parked it on the 500 block of Welsh Road on March 21. He told police he unintentionally left his car unlocked and the following items were reported stolen: Brown Fossil Shoulder bag ($95) Lap Top Computer ($1,250) Sunglasses ($110) iPhone car AC adapter ($35) White headphones ($29) Vinal cologne ($25) The preceeding information was supplied by the Lower Moreland Police Department.
A Huntingdon Valley resident called the Lower Moreland Police Department March 12 after she saw a man on the side of her house on the 700 block of Fettersmill Road. The homeowner asked him what he was doing, and the man said he was checking the gas meter. He said he was with PECO. But the white pickup truck he had parked in her driveway had a Texas license plate. The man left without incident. However, the homeowner called PECO and the company told her no one was scheduled to be at her house that day. There was a sticker on the back of the car that said, "How's my driving?" and phone number, …
A Huntingdon Valley resident called the Lower Moreland Police Department to report that several of his deer stands had been tampered with. A deer stand is a platform secured to a tree to give a hunter a higher vantage point. According to the report, the resident has permission from the property owners (Lenape Properties Management) to hunt deer on the property behind the Huntingdon Valley Post Office. The man reported that the cable locks that hold his deer stands to the tree were cut off. A total of five deer stands were tampered with and 25 locks were cut. Two stands were damaged beyond …
The Lower Moreland Police Department was contacted on March 8 after a Huntingdon Valley resident discovered his detached garage was burglarized on the 3600 block of Holt Lane. The resident told police he saw footprints in the snow leading up to the side door of the garage. He noticed the side door was open, and the footsteps led back down his driveway. He admitted the door wasn’t locked, but said it was closed. A stolen property sheet was left for the resident, who wasn’t sure at the time if anything had been taken from the garage. Last May it was reported that a group of men entered the Valley Sunoco and got into a physical altercation with an employee after the employee figured out the men were trying to pass off a $100 counterfeit bill. One of the men attempted to pay for $30 worth of gas, but once the employee told the man the bill was fake, a shoving match ensued with another employee of Sunoco and the employee was hit in the face. On March 10, Lower Moreland Police were contacted after a resident reported a suspicious person knocking on doors on the 140 block of Clearview Ave. The resident stated that an unknown man knocked on his door and said he was rehearsing for public speaking. The man was described as in his 20’s, 5-foot-8’ inches, 190 pounds, dark hair and no facial hair. He was also wearing a backwards baseball cap a gray hooded sweatshirt. A Huntingdon Valley couple were away for four days. When they returned home on March 3, they noticed that several small trees and shrubs in the front of their yard had been trimmed and branches were cut off. The trees and shrubs were not bordering any other property, according to the report, on the 1200 block of Mettler Lane. Several large Arborvitae shrubs were trimmed from the ground up to 4-5 feet, making the top halves much wider and fuller. Other smaller shrubs were trimmed all over. A Huntingdon Valley resident contacted the Lower Morland Police Department after she found her ex-boyfriend passed out on her back porch on 40 block of Radburn Road. It was also reported that the 27-year-old man, from Philadelphia, also had a knife. The woman’s husband reported that the ex-boyfriend had a knife because the tires on his car had been slashed. The woman told police that she had received phone calls from her estranged boyfriend, but eventually turned her phone off because she did not wish to speak with him after receiving four voice mails. Feb. 24 – Hit-and-Run accident While on patrol, a Lower Moreland police officer saw a muddy Jeep Liberty with damage to its fender flare, headlight lens stopped in the roadway on Byberry Road. To the side of the road, the police officer also saw an un-numbered Verizon utility pole, which was sheared off and pushed approximately 20 feet west from its original location. He dropped his car off at 7 a.m. for his morning commute and noticed the damage when he returned at 5:30 p.m. There was a note left on his car, which appeared to be written on a scrap piece of newspaper. A Huntingdon Valley resident contacted the Lower Moreland Police Department on Feb. 19 to report a burglary after she noticed items were missing from her bedroom on the 900 block of Thrush Lane. The resident said she went to work at 7:30 a.m. and when she returned home at 6:30 p.m., she saw the basement window had been slid open and appeared to be the point of entry. During the snowstorm last week, a Lower Moreland Police Officer noticed a black Nissan Sentra on Red Lion Road stranded in the lane of traffic with four inches of snow on the ground. The officer used his car to push the Nissan onto Dale Road so snow plows could clear the streets. A Huntingdon Valley resident reported a burglary to her home around 2:45 p.m. on the 170 block of Clearview Ave on Sunday, Feb. 10. The resident stated that she heard a knock on the front door, but nobody was there when she answered it. As she turned her around, she saw a male enter through the side door and began walking toward her in the kitchen. The male stated his name Joe Patino and told her he was Italian. The following information was supplied the Lower Moreland Police Department: A homeowner on the 2200 block of Washington Lane called LMPD at 4:23 p.m. on Jan. 30 to report his house was burglarized. The homeowner stated that he and his wife left the house at 8:30 a.m. But when he arrived home, he saw the front door was ajar and pieces of they metal door jam were laying on the floor.  According to the report, the door appeared to be forced in, with the door jam split vertically. Jan. 19 – Disorderly Conduct 2300 block of Philmont Ave. A Huntingdon Valley residents called LMPD to report suspicious activity near the rear of his property. The witness told police that he heard his dog barking at something near the back of his house, so he went to investigate. The witness saw a black Jeep wrangler with a soft top, and a young white woman crouching down next to the Jeep with her pants down. The Lower Moreland Police Department recently released the following information: On January 25, at 3:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a 19-year-old man unresponsive in a vehicle, which was located in the garage of a single-family dwelling in Lower Moreland Township. While responding, police were updated by dispatch of a strong odor of gas or chemicals present on location near the vehicle and subject.
