Furniture Lady Brings Bargains to Huntingdon Valley
There are some real treasures on the corner of Huntingdon Pike and Buck Road.
For the last eight years, the Furniture Lady, 2700 Buck Road, has been nestled away at the foot of Buck Rd. and Huntingdon Pike. It doesn't stand out with lavish signs and it's only open three days a week, but the vast array of furniture is really something to behold when stepping inside.
What used to be gas station is now a fully-stocked showroom filled with antique pieces donated by members of the community. The non-profit charity works to reduce hunger and provide for those in need.
"I've been here for the last eight years," owner Myra Jones said. "This building is owned by the Academy; it used to be a gas station. They gave me the rental and we've been here seven years this month.
"People donate, and we do go to auction," she added. "But most of it comes from donations from people in the area. We have all kinds of different people tell me they like my stuff. And we've been very pleased with what were're doing."
- Open Tues., Fri., and Sat.; 10am-4pm.
- Furniture donation by appointment, (215) 938-1736
