Super Bowl Sunday, Other Local Events

Check out these fun events in the area before the big game.

 

It will be cool this weekend, but it will hardly feel like winter. Here are some ways to get out of the house and take advantage of a sunny first weekend in February.

ROCK ON WITH THE EXCEPTIONS
Where/when: The Buck Hotel, Feasterville-Trevose, Friday at 9 p.m.
Why go: Take advantage of 30 years of experience getting crowds to enjoy themselves.
Cost: No cover

BOY SCOUT FLAPJACK BREAKFAST
Where/when: Applebees Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Upper Southampton, Saturday starting at 8 a.m.
Why go: Get your grub on and support Boy Scout Troop 400.
Cost: $8

MODEL RAILROAD CLUB OPEN HOUSE
Where/when: 2066 2nd Street Pike, Richboro, Saturday starting at noon.
Why go: The Abington Lines Model RR Club Inc. presents an H.O. scale model railroad display. Operating trains, trolleys and narrow gauge, on a large permanent layout.
Cost: Free

FAMILY FUN AT WINTERFEST
Where/when: St. Michael The Archangel School, Levittown, Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m.
Why go: St. Michael the Archangel Winterfest and Basket Night includes a DJ, 50/50's, door prizes, food and refreshments for purchase.
Cost: Free

MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL
Where/when: Glencairn Museum, Huntingdon Valley, Sunday at 1 p.m.
Why go: Travel back to a time when illuminated manuscripts and stained glass windows were made to kindle heavenly inspiration. Watch as stained glass windows are painted by hand and as manuscripts are illuminated by hand. Enjoy music played on period instruments
Cost: $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students

SUPER BOWL PARTY AT PHOENIX SPORT CLUB
Where/when: Phoenix Sport Club, Feasterville, Sunday at 5 p.m.
Why go: 
Bring a snack to share and cash for the bar and enjoy the big game.
Cost:
 No cover.

SUPER PARX SUNDAY PARTY
Where/when: Parx Casino and Racing, Bensalem, Sunday at 5 p.m.
Why go: 
Watch the Super Bowl on one of three big screens at Parx. Half price Miller Lites and other cocktail specials will be available, while the "parkettes" give away game day prizes and giveaways. And for $20 enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet.
